The Challenge
Benedictine College is a Catholic liberal arts college known for its thriving campus life and rapidly growing reputation—but its admissions materials didn’t reflect that momentum. The existing viewbook lacked cohesion, energy, and storytelling power. With record enrollment goals ahead, the Admissions team needed a publication that could capture hearts and stand out in a competitive college search landscape.
They needed a complete refresh—from visuals and messaging to layout, photography, and print execution.



The Process
Over six months, Storyweaver Brands (Christa Rieger) partnered with Benedictine’s Admissions team to lead the redesign of their flagship recruitment piece. The goal was to create a high-impact, high-touch viewbook that reflected the college’s core values, academic excellence, and vibrant campus culture.
Our work included:
Coordinating messaging and structure with an outside copywriter
Gathering and directing internal feedback from multiple campus stakeholders
Designing a clean, modern layout that felt fresh while remaining on-brand
Capturing campus life through intentional, story-driven photography

The result was a stunning 30-page viewbook that brought Benedictine’s mission and message to life.

Print Design & Layout:
Designed the full piece from scratch with attention to typography, white space, and strategic pacing to guide the readerCustom Photography:
Provided over 80% of the imagery used, including classroom scenes, student life, campus landmarks, and portraitsCopy Coordination:
Worked closely with a freelance copywriter and internal teams to ensure the tone, structure, and content aligned with admissions goalsPrint Production Management:
Oversaw the full printing process in collaboration with PrintTime KC, ensuring top-tier print quality, paper selection, and finishing touchesSpin-off Materials:
Designed a smaller, foldable version of the viewbook for college fairs, mailers, and on-campus distribution
The Outcome
The impact was immediate and measurable:
Benedictine College set a record for student enrollment the year the viewbook launched
The messaging from the viewbook was adopted and expanded across the college’s website and digital materials
The printed piece became a key tool in the college’s campus tour experience, direct mail strategy, and recruitment events
The foldable version increased access and portability, allowing the college to reach more students in more places
Why It Worked
This wasn’t just a pretty booklet—it was a strategic storytelling tool. By aligning visuals, voice, and print experience, the viewbook helped prospective students see themselves on campus before they ever set foot there. It translated heart and mission into design—and it delivered results.
